Our Design Process

I am not the best graphic designer, so I need a little help.  Below is an outline of the design process that brings EAΠTO creations to life!

1. I use photos from my family trip to Greece for the inspiration.

2. I create rough drawings/pencil sketches on my easel or in Canva.

3. I take the photo(real/drawings) or transfer the Canva file into Linearity & Photoshop.

4. I use a couple design tools to trace, augment and upscale...until, OPA!

.

From this process I came up with 7 distinct series.  Each represents a dimension of our culture.

• Hellenic Soul —  I wanted to communicate the intangible ethos of our culture.  This series highlights the words, values, emotions, and ideals that express what it means to be Greek.

• Hellenic Living — I just love the architecture and landscapes.  This series celebrates the beauty of everyday Greek and Mediterranean living, from serene interiors to the Aegean lifestyle.

• Hellenic Spirit — This series is my best attempt to recreate the feeling of just being in Greece.  The atmosphere, character, traditions, and timeless visual essence.

• Hellenic Sketch Archive — The original designs I came up with were just an attempt to create a unique drawing style!!  Greece's islands, villages, landmarks, and landscapes captured through artistic sketch-inspired interpretations.

• Greek Sayings — The humor, wisdom, expressions, and familiar phrases passed through Greek life and generations...I can't express enough how much Greeks love laughing and....talking!  My Father and I will come up with 10 designs every time we get together.

• Explorer — This series is a celebration of Greece as a place to discover.  From iconic destinations to hidden villages, coastlines, and experiences.  So many unique destinations, traditions and regions.  I can see how the talking started!  The Aegean Sea as a "Grand Central Station" of the Greek world allowed for constant engagement with neighbors.   There was just enough in common to be able to communicate and develop a shared identity, but also just enough difference to be able to see the world from a different perspective.

• Heaven & Earth — Ancient Greek philosophy, mythology, spirituality, and humanity's enduring questions about life, nature, purpose, and existence.  The Greek Orthodox Church is central to our communities and heritage.  The sale from every product with these designs will be donated to a AHEPA and Philoptochos charity.
